Audio CD - The Stravinsky fountain
|
Description
The Stravinsky fountain was so called to commemorate the collaboration of Pierre Boulez, founder of IRCAM (Institute for Music/Acoustic Research and Coordination), and the Russian musician in the 1960s.
To bring to life the square which also bears the composer's name, Niki de Saint Phalle and Jean Tinguely made multicoloured figures and black mechanical objects rise out of the pool, well reflecting the sense of the marvellous, the party atmosphere and the circus theme found in the musical works of Stravinsky. The programme on this CD likewise gives us a taste of the musical universe brought to mind by those playful and festive shapes emerging from the water.
