This book was published on the occasion of the retrospective exhibition "Faire son temps" presented at the Center Pompidou from November 13, 2019 to March 16, 2020.

The book presents two texts by the writer Christophe Boltanski and a selection of photographs by Christian Boltanski. Never published in France, the texts approach the issue of traces left by fortuitous encounters symbolized by business cards, and echo the work of Christian Boltanski.

The book belongs to the collection of essays published by the Centre Pompidou, essential to understand the most important artists of the modern and contemporary art.
